SkySpecs is a global leader in renewable energy operations, delivering software, hardware, and services primarily for the wind energy sector. Their clients range from global energy corporations to municipal wind operators, with offerings spanning turbine inspections, predictive maintenance, and strategic planning. Their mission: make clean energy more accessible and efficient.

But while their client-facing tools ran like clockwork, internal operations were quietly leaking value. Inaccurate time tracking and delayed invoicing were taking a toll on both revenue and project visibility. Onware needed a fix—one that didn’t require disrupting their team’s workflow.

Challenges

SkySpecs needed visibility into how time was spent across delivery, consulting, and support functions. Their existing timekeeping tool lacked the flexibility for project- and milestone-level tracking.
With a company-wide shift to Salesforce, they sought a native solution that would:

  • Integrate seamlessly with Salesforce projects and milestones.

  • Be simple enough to ensure adoption.

  • Deliver detailed reporting across paid, unpaid, internal, and pre-sales activities.

We needed a solution that would take 5 to 10 minutes a week for an employee to use effectively, without sacrificing data accuracy or flexibility.

Solution

In 2022, SkySpecs implemented PK4 TimeTracker, starting with 8–10 licenses for the Delivery Team and later expanding to:

Condition Monitoring Systems (CMS)

Financial Asset Management (FAM)

Performance and SCADA Data Teams

Key Features Adopted:

  • Weekly view with “copy from previous week” functionality.

  • Custom fields for account owner, project name, milestone, work type, and notes.

  • Ability to log time for future weeks.

 

Implementation Experience

SkySpecs collaborated closely with PK4 developers to configure TimeTracker in both test and production Salesforce environments. Their Salesforce Admin coordinated directly with PK4’s engineering team for a smooth rollout and quick troubleshooting.
